Almost everyone is affected by the ISO
9001:2000 changes.
Regardless of whether you are just starting your ISO 9000 implementation or
are a former registered company there will be an effect on your quality
management system. Whether that change will prove to be valid for a particular
company will usually depend upon how that Company and its partners, consultant,
trainer, registrar, etc. prepare for the change.
Be proactive -- take our orientation workshop and start an action plan. The new revision may prove to be the perfect opportunity to take a firm’s
quality system up a notch.
Instead of the current 20 elements there are now four processes. The four
sections include management responsibility, resource management, process
management, measurements analysis and improvement. One quality management system
conformance standard will apply to all organizations. ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 have
been eliminated.
There is considerably more emphasis on customer interaction, satisfaction and
continuous improvement.
Several new requirements will be included with this revision. The key
additions will cover information availability, work environment, the measurement
of customer satisfaction, analysis of data and the requirements that processes
operate as a loop.
The new standard is in effect. It is
important to formulate a plan of action.
